Now this book gets the prize for the quickest one to read! Flew through this one. I’ve read it before, and although I thought I knew what it was “about”, reading it again gave me a whole new perspective on how to apply it to how my life is now.
I don’t think it’s a spoiler to say that the book is a parable, topped and tailed with a story about some people at a high school reunion. I think it’s best to ignore the high school reunion bit for now (its cheesy, clumsy and probably unnecessary, I think you are all smart enough to understand the parable without having it hammered home).
The parable itself, like most, is simple, and childish and instantly applicable. For me a lot of what i drew from the parable related to the current economic environment, and what I’ve seen on how I, and how our clients, have dealt with the inevitable need for change which it brings.
I’ve previously criticised books on here for not really talking about how to apply the principles they espouse – this book doesn’t either, but it doesn’t need to. It’s a timely reminder that attitude is a choice, and one which we have the privileged of making many times a day.
OK, so that’s a but gushy for me- how is everyone else getting on?

Besides being a lover of Cheese in general (and I would search high and low for good cheese!!) I love this book for it’s simplicity in pointing out something that a lot of business owners do, with out realising they do it.
I think this book is the “Pride & Prejudice” of business books – you know how the story goes, you know how the story ends, but you still enjoy reading it over and over. It’s also the easiest/quickest book to read, so no matter how busy you are you can fit this book in!
Ok, it appears I’m slightly biased about how fab this book is – but if, like me, you have a short attention span and want a book to get to the point – then this is the one!
