People who’ve worked with us recently may well know how fond we are of experiments. We work with lots of our clients to support them to design small experiments which they can carry out within their business to see what difference they make.
As you’ll probably remember from school, an experiment should have a hypothesis and you need to be able to observe or measure the results.
In this series of blogs we’ve suggested some little experiments which you might like to try. Or, why not design your own?
Un-do your To-dos
Keeping a to-do list can be a great way to keep on top of tasks, but it can also encourage us to think-small and only do things which are either urgent or very achievable.
Hypothesis: There are some things which are important to your business but which aren’t ever “urgent” and so get left. If you could tackle some of these things you could move your business forward
Method; Protect some time where you aren’t driven by your task list, maybe 2 hours a week initially. At the start of each session spend 10-15 minutes thinking about the things which are really important for the future of your business but may never make it onto a task list. Exploring a new market, polishing up a product, writing that eBook. Spend the rest of the time getting started!
Measures: New products, improved quality, revised strategy.
If you give it a go, let us know what happens!
