This month we’ve had a chance to talk to a lot of entrepreneurs about their businesses, and based on those discussions we’ve come up with a list of words that businesses could consider using more often. This week we are looking at the word: Thank You
“Thank you”
Saying Thanks is good manners, but it is also a great way to tell people that you appreciate them. This applies to your customers, your team, your suppliers and your network. It should definitely apply to any one who recommends or refers you. There are lots of ways to thank people, you’ll probably already know what works best for you: a hand written note, a small gift, a personalised email.
It is very, very important that you just say Thanks – never use this as an excuse for a sales pitch, or to ask for anything else. Why not try finding new ways to thank people and trying it out for a few weeks – you might be surprised the impact it can have.
What do you think? Is this a word you use often enough? Is it something you like to hear from the companies you work with?
Next week we’re looking at: Sorry.
