Experiments… Blog 1 – Link In

People who’ve worked with us recently may well know how fond we are of experiments. We work with lots of our clients to support them to design small experiments which they can carry out within their business to see what difference they make.

As you’ll probably remember from school, an experiment should have a hypothesis and you need to be able to observe or measure the results.

In this series of blogs we’ve suggested some little experiments which you might like to try. Or, why not design your own?

We think that LinkedIn is the most under appreciated of all the social media platforms and it can be incredibly powerful, especially for organisations which trade business-to-business. If you don’t think you are making the most of it, why not design an experiment to see if you can get better results.

Preparation: Before you start the experiment make sure your LinkedIn profile is up-to-date and as complete as possible. Familiarise yourself with LinkedIn functionality – there are some brilliant YouTube videos to help you.

Hypothesis: Investing in regular, consistent time building an online network could result in new opportunities.

Method: Commit to spending half an hour on LinkedIn 3 times a week for 3 months: Making new connections, chatting to existing ones, contributing value to online discussions and groups (but not being too salesy)

Measure: New meetings held, new projects, new opportunities, different opportunities

If you give it a go, let us know what happens!
